About the Role

HeyTutor has partnered with a local school district in Visalia to provide high-impact, in-person tutoring to Middle School students. Applicants must have completed an Associate’s degree or higher, or be currently enrolled in college.

We are hiring English and Math Tutors to support students in grades 6th–8th. This is a great opportunity for college students, aspiring educators, and education professionals looking for consistent hours, competitive pay, and meaningful work in their community.

Pay & Benefits

• $22–$26 per hour, based on education and experience

Schedule

• Monday–Friday availability required
• Must be available between 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Requirements

• Completed AA degree or higher, OR currently enrolled in college (required)
• Experience working with children or tutoring preferred
• Comfortable tutoring Middle School Math and English Language Arts (ELA)
• Ability to manage small groups independently
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting
• Ability to pass an FBI-DOJ in-person background check (provided by HeyTutor)
• Spanish Bilingual is a plus

Key Responsibilities

• Tutor small groups of Middle school students without direct teacher supervision
• Deliver lessons using provided curriculum and materials
• Create an engaging, welcoming learning environment
• Support positive student behavior and participation
• Track attendance and student progress using the HeyTutor Dashboard
• Assist with student assessments when requested
• Escort students to and from designated areas on campus
• Clock in/out daily using Deputy
• Complete additional duties as assigned
